Laura has been caring for children from a very young age and has always loved children. There has never been a time where there weren’t children in her life.
From age eleven to seventeen Laura baby sat for many families in the Bay Area from 1975 to 1977 and then in Lake Oswego from 1977 to 1983, including full time during the summer months.
At age twenty-one her first child Jennifer was born and five years later her son Coty. During the early years Laura worked in hotels & restaurant management, but her first love was working with children.
Once Jen turned two years old, Laura decided to start her own business as a daycare provider. In August 1989 Laura became a registered provider in Portland and she has continued her registration for over sixteen years.
From 1989 to 1994 Lil’faces was located in Tigard, Oregon and enrolled up to ten children. She provided safe, loving and fun care for children from infancy to age twelve. As the years have gone by she decided to enroll a small group of six children at Lil’faces, so she could give special attention, including preschool activities to the kids. In 1994 Laura’s family moved to Rock Creek and then a mile away to the Bethany area in 1999.
From 1999 to 2007 Laura cared for up to five full-time children, ages one to five years and began providing the Funshine Express learning curriculum in addition to all of the fun learning activities each day.
In April 2007 Laura closed Lil’faces Child Care in the Bethany area to pursue school and take a sabbatical, until moving to St. Helens in January 2008. Laura is very excited to re-open Lil’faces Child Care during the months of August & September of 2008 to specialize in care for a small group of toddlers & preschoolers.
